Kindergarten Letter Writing Board Template

Here's what Caren Bush has to say about this great writing teaching tool:

At first, we only use this for introducing new letters.

Soon we will use it to copy words.

Eventually, this line will get smaller and a second line will appear (the kids think it's magic!).

Then we will begin copying sentences.

GREAT CENTER DISPLAY BOARDS!!

Mrs. Keeton has created awesome center boards that can be used during elementary center time.

Her son can make you a set for a very small cost.

If you would like to order a set that includes four boards, a stand, and a set of cards, email her at deborah.keeton@carter.kyschools.us.

Student-Created Word Wall Visuals

This word wall was spotted in a classroom in Carter County.

What a great way to get your students involved in creating your word wall!

Not only are they defining the words, they are creating visual reminders.

PIMSER Archives

To all those PIMSER fellows out there...you will see a new link to the PIMSER Archives. If you have attended any PIMSER professional development, you know that you always come away with lots of math games and activities for your classroom--in hard copy! It is so hard to find the time to get online and download the electronic files. Hopefully, the link will help. Have a great Monday!

The Daily Five!

Mrs. Cline is using the strategies found in the book The Daily Five with her class this year!

As you can tell by the tabs at the top of her book, she has read the book thoroughly!
If you want to know more about the concepts in this book,  email Mrs. Cline or click on the link to the right titled, "The Daily Five."
Isn't that a creative name for the link?

Teachers, LOOK!!!

Erica and I were at Carter Elementary today and found these awesome Ellison die cut shapes!  If you ever want things cut from any of these shapes, please let us know!

They have a lot of other math shapes and graphic organizer-style die cuts, so let us know if they would ever come in handy in a lesson or for a bulletin board!

Super Science!

Mrs. McDavid had her class outside bright and early Wednesday morning, measuring and calculating.

Many days you'll find her wearing a white lab jacket, overseeing hands-on labs in the classroom.

Thank you, Mrs. McDavid, for bringing science to life for West Carter Middle School students!

A Few of Our Great Teachers.....................

Everyday, all across our county, teachers walk into classrooms ready to share more than just a lesson.
They walk in ready to share their hearts.
Here are just a few of the teachers making a difference.
We will be adding more in the near future!
Thank you, Carter County teachers, for all you do to make our schools safe, loving, and student-centered!
